Known for her focus on alignment, therapeutics, and love of learning, Jennie’s teaching style is clear, direct, loving, and goofy. Her classes build sequentially over time with an emphasis on therapeutic alignment, self reflection, and connection to the heart.  Her classes are a place for all genders, all ethnicities, and bodies of various shapes and sizes. She is committed to learning how her classes and teaching can be more accessible, trauma-informed, and effective for all levels of students. Always open to feedback and questions, Jennie welcomes conversation around how students experience her classes.  Students often describe her teaching as educational, inviting, encouraging, and real. She believes yoga can prepare us for life off of the mat and is passionate about the connection between the two. She has extensive experience teaching raw beginners, teenagers, seniors, advanced practitioners, and teachers.

Before we can find peace among nations, we have to find peace inside that small nation which is our own being.

Jennie’s teaching and practice is influenced by a variety of styles and teachers. Originally trained in Anusara Yoga, Jennie has always been drawn to practices that connected her to heart, alignment, and community.  Jennie still studies with one of her very first yoga teacher trainers, Christina Sell, and appreciates all she learns from her about therapeutics, injury prevention, and self awareness. She is currently a student of Iyengar yoga and is learning from a skilled and thoughtful group of East Bay teachers.

Jennie loves working with teens, young adults, and university students.  She mentors teachers on bringing yoga into their classrooms and coaches yoga teachers on how to effectively teach to teens. Jennie has helped build out programs in Juvenile Detention centers, public high schools, and off-campus facilities.  Her work with teens continues to keep her humble, sharpen her skills as a teacher, and helps her to remember not to take herself too seriously.
